Search grows through relationships, not programs. It always begins with people.
Before exploring what it might look like for Search to grow in a new city, we encourage you to start with REACH. REACH is where individuals experience the heart of Search firsthand by learning to listen well, share faith naturally, and walk patiently with friends who are asking real questions about God.
REACH is not a requirement or a test. It is a formative step. For many, it becomes the clearest way to discern whether Search's relational approach aligns with how God has shaped them and whether a broader conversation about their city makes sense.
How Search begins in a new city
Search does not enter a new city simply because it looks attractive on a map. We begin where relationships are forming, local believers share a heart for spiritually curious adults, and there is a growing sense that God is opening a door.
From there, Search takes root relationally. Local staff cultivate an engaged Local Leadership Board, build relationships throughout the community, and work with local partners to develop the prayer, leadership, and financial support needed for healthy, sustainable ministry.
Every city develops differently. There is no one formula or timetable. We move thoughtfully, relationally, and with discernment, allowing the ministry to grow from the relationships God is already putting in place.
What helps Search take root and last
While every city is different, healthy Search areas tend to share several characteristics. These are not boxes to check or rigid thresholds. They are the relationships, commitments, and support that create a strong foundation for long-term relational evangelism.
