Welcome to Wilmington

Search has been part of Wilmington since 2023, creating opportunities for adults to pause, ask honest questions, and explore life, faith, purpose, and God through meaningful conversation.

Led by Area Director John Freshwater, Search Wilmington is for people who want to go deeper than surface-level answers. You may have a church background, no church background, or questions that do not fit neatly into either category. You are welcome to bring them.

There is room for the questions you do not usually say out loud.

Wilmington brings together longtime residents, newcomers, students, and people with a wide range of experiences and perspectives. Search creates opportunities for those people to talk candidly about things like meaning, family, suffering, faith, and whether God has anything to do with real life.

John is building relationships throughout the community and creating places where those conversations can happen naturally, without pressure to reach a certain conclusion or move at someone else’s pace.
